The Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is responsible for Somalia’s foreign, and International Cooperations policy.
The Ministry is responsible for Somali relations with other countries and its main tasks are to promote Somalia’s interests internationally and contribute to realizing the Governments overall foreign policy objectives.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also works closely with the other government institutions to ensure that Somalia speaks with one voice in the World.
The political leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Investment Promotion comprises: The Minister, Deputy Minister and State Minister
In addition to the political leadership, the Ministry has non-political senior official, the Permanent Secretary who leads the Ministry’s work.
The permanent secretary office is responsible for the administrative management of the Foreign Service and that includes foreign, investment promotion and security policy issues. The office works together with other departments to shape and conduct a coordinated and consistent Somalia’s foreign policy
