Ministry-Building

The Somali ForeMinistry Buildingign Ministry was one of the first Ministries to be established after independence in 1960. It was created to articulate Somalia’s Foreign Policy and to strengthen international cooperation with the world.
Today the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Investment Promotion promotes the interests of the Federal Republic of Somalia overseas and supports its citizens and businesses in each corner of the world and on the international stage.
The Ministry coordinates and carries out the national foreign policy at its headquarters in Mogadishu and through its missions abroad. It is likewise the channel through which the Somali Government communicates with foreign governments, international partners and organizations.

Somalia s is committed to building a safe, stable and prosperous world. In Mogadishu, through our embassies and consulates worldwide, staff are actively involved in addressing issues such as poverty reduction, climate change, confronting terrorism and regional integration.
The Ministry’s priorities are increasing investment for the sustainable development, supporting Somali citizens across the world through modern and efficient consular services as well as collaborating with partner nations and international organizations on all matters of international and mutual benefit.
