The Protocol Department of the Ministry is responsible of ensuring relations between Somalia and other countries are conducted in accordance with international protocol practices and adjusted accordingly to Somalia’s local customs and the principle of reciprocity. The Department provides support for all State and Official Visits to Somalia and the visits of high Somali delegation abroad. The Department is also responsible for the Presentation of Credentials for foreign Ambassadors, ceremonial arrangements and protocol assistance to other Government agencies.
The Department ensures granting privileges and immunities to assertively Foreign Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations in Somalia in accordance with the related international laws and the Vienna Conventions.
